What We Cover in Mathematics

Students usually come out loving their most feared math topics after our course.

Below are some of the most taught topics with difficulty rating (🛡️).

  • 🛡️🛡️ Data Interpretation and Graphing (Arithmetic/Geometry): Understanding how to interpret data in various forms (like graphs or tables) and learning to create and interpret different types of graphs (bar graphs, line graphs, etc.). This involves arithmetic skills for calculations and geometric understanding for graph interpretation.

🛡️🛡️🛡️ Geometry (Geometry): Learning about more complex geometric concepts, such as calculating the area and perimeter of various shapes, understanding angles, and beginning to explore the properties of three-dimensional shapes.

🛡️🛡️🛡️ Long Division (Arithmetic): Mastering long division, particularly when it involves remainders or decimal answers. This includes understanding how to divide large numbers and interpret the remainder.

🛡️🛡️🛡️🛡️ Fractions and Decimals (Arithmetic): Understanding and working with fractions and decimals, especially operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division involving fractions and mixed numbers.

🛡️🛡️🛡️🛡️ Word Problems Involving Multiple Steps (Arithmetic/Algebra): Solving multi-step word problems, which require understanding the problem, deciding on the operations to use, and executing them in the correct order. This can overlap with basic algebraic thinking as it often involves finding unknowns.

  • 🛡️🛡️ Statistics and Probability (Arithmetic/Algebra): Basics of statistics and probability, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation.

🛡️🛡️🛡️ Ratios and Proportional Relationships (Arithmetic): Understanding ratios, rate, and proportionality, and applying these concepts in various contexts.

🛡️🛡️🛡️ Algebraic Expressions (Algebra): Introduction to algebra, including writing, interpreting, and using simple algebraic expressions and equations.

🛡️🛡️🛡️ Geometry with a Focus on Area and Volume (Geometry): Exploring area, surface area, and volume of various shapes, including composite figures.

🛡️🛡️🛡️🛡️ Advanced Fractions and Decimals (Arithmetic): Deeper understanding of fractions and decimals, especially in operations like division, and conversion between the two.

  • 🛡️🛡️🛡️ Operations with Negative Numbers (Arithmetic): Mastery of operations involving negative numbers, including their application in various contexts.

🛡️🛡️🛡️ Geometry with Emphasis on Angles and Scale Drawings (Geometry): Studying angles, scale drawings, and geometric constructions.

🛡️🛡️🛡️ Probability and Statistics (Arithmetic/Algebra): More complex concepts in probability and statistics, including probability models and analysis of data.

🛡️🛡️🛡️🛡️ Advanced Ratios and Proportional Relationships (Arithmetic): Further exploration of ratios and proportions, including complex word problems.

🛡️🛡️🛡️🛡️ Linear Equations and Inequalities (Algebra): Understanding and solving linear equations and inequalities in one variable.

  • 🛡️🛡️🛡️ Exponents and Scientific Notation (Arithmetic): Working with exponents, including laws of exponents, and understanding and using scientific notation.

🛡️🛡️🛡️ Real-World Application of Proportional Relationships (Arithmetic/Algebra): Applying proportional relationships in real-world scenarios, including percent, scale factors, and rate.

🛡️🛡️🛡️🛡️ Functions and Linear Relationships (Algebra): Introduction to functions and understanding linear relationships.

🛡️🛡️🛡️🛡️ Transformational Geometry (Geometry): Exploring transformations (translation, rotation, reflection, dilation) and understanding congruence and similarity.

🛡️🛡️🛡️🛡️🛡️ Systems of Linear Equations (Algebra): Solving systems of linear equations graphically, algebraically, and using substitution or elimination.

  • 🛡️🛡️🛡️🛡️ Statistics and Probability (Arithmetic/Algebra): Advanced topics in statistics and probability, including interpreting categorical and quantitative data.

🛡️🛡️🛡️🛡️ Functions and Their Properties (Algebra): Deepening understanding of functions, including different types of functions like linear, quadratic, and exponential, and their properties.

🛡️🛡️🛡️🛡️ Trigonometry (Geometry): Introduction to trigonometry, including understanding sine, cosine, and tangent, and applying them to right-angled triangles.

🛡️🛡️🛡️🛡️🛡️ Advanced Algebraic Concepts (Algebra): Topics like polynomials, factoring, quadratic equations, and algebraic fractions.

🛡️🛡️🛡️🛡️🛡️ Geometry with Proof and Constructions (Geometry): Understanding theorems about lines, angles, triangles, and proofs, including constructions using compass and straightedge.

How Scheduling Works

You can book your 8 classes at anytime in June, July, and August. Anytime, means any hour, from the 24 hours of the day.
