Detailed 8 Day outline: Python App & Game Development Bootcamp

Day 1: Python Programming for App Development

  • Upskill on Python depending on your prior knowledge

  • Core concepts covered: variables, data types, and basic coding structure.

  • Optional advanced concepts: Conditionals, functions, loops

Day 2-3: GUI Elements and Keyboard/Mouse Interactions

  • Implementation of buttons, entry fields, and other GUI elements.

  • Collecting and storing values from UI element interaction.

  • Make the game interactive and playable with mouse and keyboard

  • Use keyboard events to trigger motion

Day 4-5: Data Model within the App & Game Mechanics

  • Introduction to data models and their importance in app development.

  • Designing and implementing a data model within the Python program.

  • Incorporating data management techniques without external databases.

Day 6-7: Navigation and Interaction

  • Implementing navigation between different pages within the Python application.

  • Exploring methods for user interaction and flow control within the app.

  • Enhancing user experience through page transitions and interactions.

Day 8: Finalize Project and Deployment

  • Completion and finalisation of the app/game development project.

  • Testing and debugging the app/game for optimal performance.

  • Showcase your final game/app project

You can book your 8 classes at anytime in June, July, and August. Anytime, means any hour, from the 24 hours of the day.

If some classes remain unscheduled within these months, they can still be used throughout the school year.
