Throughout the camp, practical application will be the central focus, providing your child with hands-on experience in using AI for websites, games, apps, and exploring advanced AI concepts and tools. Students will learn how to develop industry-grade websites, using AI the way real developers do — as a tool to enhance and accelerate their work.

Detailed 8 Day outline: AI-First Software Development

Day 1-2: Ship a Site Today

  • Generate a personalised website or app based on a prompt.

  • Modify site content, layout, or style through follow-up prompts and see immediate changes.

  • Demonstrate the process of deploying a site in a web context.

Day 3-4: Set Up Your Dev Environment

  • Install the necessary tools for professional web development with AI.

  • Run a local development server and preview changes in the browser.

  • Modify code to implement changes and verify them in the browser.

Day 5-6: Think in Components & Styling

  • Recognize and navigate the project’s components folder structure.

  • Create and import a reusable React component.

  • Pass data to components to change the UI.

  • Apply styling using Tailwind CSS, inline styles, and global styles.

Day 7-8: Database Integration & Authentication

  • Configure a database and implement sign-up, login, and logout.

  • Use AI to generate starter queries and refine them (table creation, permission,etc).

  • Build a feature that retrieves or updates data from the database.
